We have just received a letter from the Auckland City Mission thanking us for our donation of canned foods. Well done for all your efforts Room 5. Every little bit helps and together we can make a difference to other people in need.
Welcome to Room 5's blog for 2018. We are an energetic Year 5 class and our teacher is Miss Robertson. We are looking forward to working together and learning lots of exciting and new things this year! Check our blog regularly to see what we have been up to. We would love to read your comments.
Hi Room 5, You have been learning about the effect of poverty in our city - that is a very important topic in the news right now. Do you know what the living wage is or means? Do you know that a lot of people in our city do not earn the living wage.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of effect do you think this has on people and their families? Mr Trembath works in a building in the city just around the corner from The Auckland City Mission - he says that there are a lot more people going in and out of the Mission than there were a few years ago. Their work is really important to lots of people. Great job in joining in and helping out too Room 5!
Yay! We did it.It is my first time being that proud at me
ReplyDeleteKa pai Room 5. Great to see that your work and donation is appreciated and that each small act of kindness that we do, can make a big difference for others. Keep looking for small acts that you can do to help someone at school, in your class, at home, in the playground. Be an everyday hero by not expecting something in return, act with integrity - doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. Are you prepared for this challenge?
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Driver how are you? I looked at your comment and I will do it. Maybe to you! Thanks for the comment Mrs Driver. I will reply to all your comments.
