What an AWESOME Arts week

Room 5 have enjoyed Arts week. We started the week off Dancing, then doing Drama activities, followed by arts and crafts making Worry Dolls.

We also spent lots of time working on our Koru Art for Arts week. They are coming along quite nicely. Here are some sneak peeks.

Rhythm Interactive

We had lots of fun at the Rhythm Interactive workshop on Friday. We learnt seven different rhythms on the drums ranging from easy to difficult. Check out the ultimate focus from the Kauri whanau students (and teachers).

The Buddhist temple

What an awesome day at the Buddhist temple, learning about the 3Gs and 4Gs.

Happy Mother's Day (for Sunday)

I think there will be some happy Mummies on Sunday! We hope that all Room 5 mums have a lovely Mother's Day!

Biography Guess Who

This week Room 5 students have been learning how to write biographies. A biography is when you write about somebody else's life. Each student in Room 5 interviewed a classmate about their life and then wrote a biography about that person. We decided to delete their names so that you would have to try and guess who the biography is about. Here are a couple of finished ones.

What are your Character Strengths?

This week Room 5 learnt about Character Strengths. Scientists have identified 24 character strengths, that when practiced and developed can lead to a more meaningful life. Room 5 have been trying to identify our own character strengths as well as our peers. We all have certain strengths which should be celebrated, and we can use these to help others and learn from one another. So ask yourself, what are your character strengths? AND... what are the character strengths that you would like to develop further?
